It’s time to check your tickets for the Powerball drawing from Saturday night, Dec. 30, otherwise known as the “New Year’s Eve (eve)” drawing.
The jackpot was initially estimated at $384 million (or a $242.9 million cash value), the fourth time this year the prize value hit the $300 million mark. The actual estimate of the grand prize Saturday night ballooned to $390.1 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night:
28-36-41-51-58 with a Powerball of 24
(and a Powerplay option of 2x).
No one matched all six numbers, sending the next Powerball drawing, on Wednesday night, Jan. 3, to a whopping $440 million to start the new year.
No one matched the first five white balls, either, that would have been worth $1 million.
The $440 million prize ranks ninth all-time in Powerball jackpots.
The odds of claiming the grand prize (matching all five white balls, between 1 and 69, and the red Powerball, between 1 and 26, are 1 in 292,201,338.00.
